My Homemade Spiderweb

M

This is the month where we see everyone decorating their yards to include faux spiderwebs for Halloween. I love everyone’s creativity. The fall season is a wonderful time of year. The cool crisp air, the gentle warmth of the sun on your face and the falling leaves. I decided to enjoy the glorious weather this past Saturday morning and I notice a gorgeous homemade spiderweb created by the wildlife in our yard. I go in closer to see what talented spider created this beautiful piece of artwork. I grabbed my camera and iphone to take pics. I also googled the spider characteristics and found this spider is a Yellow Smiley Face Crab Spider (Species: Spinybacked Orbweaver-Gasteracantha Cancriformis).

I also discovered they are very beneficial to our yards to help us control over populations of insects such as flies. The articles recommended keeping them around. So we gave him a name, Peter (from the movie Spider-Man) and welcomed him to our yard. What I just love about this pure cuteness spider is the huge smiley face on the back. It brought a smile to my face. God continues to show me the miracle of life and that all creation has a purpose. Also, that I believe He wants us happy and enjoying this life. I am thankful for the great joy this sweet spider brought to my day. That is a Kapow Moment to me!
